Steve Mayes is a British architectural photographer who cleverly takes pictures of the styles around the world, but mainly in London. I like the work of Mayes as it is different, he composes his images different from other photographers I have looked at when attempting photographs of the architecture and buildings around me. The detail and depth from his images is enhanced through the use of black and white, which is common in most of his images.

Unlike the other architecture photographers that I have research, Victor Enrich looks at dull and deprived architecture as appose to the modern aspect that most look for. However, he cleverly edits the images to make them appear more intriguing. Doing this he then creates a surreal approach, by taking the buildings and enhancing colours, changing the design and inevitably creating his own virtual architecture.

Another architecture photographer that I have researched is Josef Schulz whose work inspires me to use more colours and enhance the use of the bold and bright colours in my work. In the majority of his images, they are very minimal and simplistic, however his choice of bright colours stands out and interests me.

Charlie Waite is an English landscape photographer who is noted for his use of light and shade when taking stunning images like the ones above of the environment. I like his work as they feature a lot of the formal elements, especially colour and pattern. They stand out to me in the landscape photographers that I have looked at.

David Doubilet is an underwater photographer who focuses on marine life and the different seas on the planet. I love his work for many reasons. The simplicity and elegance of the photograph with the turtle shows beauty and connotes an exotic and happy feeling to the audience. I love how he takes the photographs and makes them stand out, due to the composition of the shots. His work shows off marine life in a natural way.

Weegee was a photorealist and social photographer who captured different environments and settings of the world. He is best known for his black and white street photography and took many photographs of the world of drugs, prostitutes and drink. He also captured the lives of celebrities and iconic figures, while taking images of emotions and expressions.

Ackerman and Gruber are American commercial photographers who have taken images for Miss Universe, Target and the Army Reserve. I like their work as they apply their techniques to a range of different styles including portraits, images focusing on life, motion and travel.

Bob Martin is a photographer who captures the formal element of movement in his sports photography. His portfolios include the London 2012 Olympic Games, portraits for sportsmen and different players in the industry. His images were intriguing to me as they capture the world of sport while it is happening. They are stills and capture a number of different feelings including the emotions from the players as well as the reactions from the audiences.

Erik Johansson is a Swedish-born artist based in Berlin who creates surreal images by recombining photographs and other materials. His work stood out to me due to the realistic look it gave off even though you know that these images could not be real. The way they have been put together is astonishing as you have to work out how the images were actually taken.

David Lloyd is a British wildlife photographer whose work on mammals in their natural wildlife is breathtaking. The level of detail and the composition of the images he takes allows the audience to feel like they are in the image, looking at the animal itself. The use of colours and black and white where necessary has won him many awards as a photographer through wildlife.

Lincoln Clarkes is an award-winning photographer, who has published three books, Heroines, Views and Cyclists and has been the subject of two documentary films. His work looks at the different forms of addictions in peoples lives and is evidence of the destruction it has to them. What stood out to me about his work was the feelings it gave off, the black and white gives off power and sends a bold message to the audience of what can happen getting hooked on these drugs. He also looks at cultures of different areas of the world.

Alexander Khokhlov is a Russian photographer who works alongside a highly commended makeup artist in order to capture the manipulation of beauty. His work is by far the most creative natural work that I have ever studied in photography and my favourite because of this. The scale and level of detail the makeup has on the face, alongside the creative compositions of the photographs make them stand out as astonishing and one of my favourites. His other work is also extremely creative, his street work combines reflections with weird meanings that give off a stylish conceptual approach.

Rengim stood out to me as he based her work on four colours and applies all the work that she does into these four. The four (red, green, yellow and blue) can be subtle and not so obvious but they can also conform to the colours a great deal. Her work also covers the topic of female interpretation due to being an alcoholic herself.

Mosa'ab Elshamy is a 23-year-old, Cairo-based photographer at the Associated Press, who covers daily news stories, as well as in-depth cultural and social documentary projects. His style and images are frequently described as intimate and human. The work of Elshamy stood out to me as he covers the news and the society that it is going on around us, especially in corrupt and countries where their is conflict occuring.
