3 - Reflections - Work Diary

Evaluation

When I went out to shoot evidence of reflection, I looked up a range of different images of reflection which were already there. The task I gave myself was to show the reflections, that show other objects and other parts which are not visible in the actual object. For example, I aimed to show part of the object that we would not have seen if the reflection was not there. The images below were my favourites from the shoot as they showed reflection the way I wanted it too. The first image of the bike is one of my favourites, through the level of detail shown in the reflection. In most other images of puddles, the subject is not clear and is just a distinct outline. The tire and the metal in this stands out in the image, while I also like how the image is composed and the composition of the shot. I do not normally take images portrait, however I feel like this was different to my other work, although it did not conform to the entire task I wished to pull out.

I also like the following image as it does exactly what I set out to do, the image shows reflection through the main window and the small window alike, although it also shows a part that is not visible from the actual image which is the other side of the building and the sky.

Progression

In the following shoot, I aim to create reflections myself through a surrealism approach. I will aim to take pictures where the reflection is actually different to the real image. For example, the reflection in the mirror will be different from the action of the person looking into it. I also want to take pictures and put different reflections into them. This will enable me to explore distorted reflections that I have made myself.
