2 - Evidence of Human Presence - Work Diary

Evaluation

In the previous shoot, I looked at how light affected the world and the environment around me by using different shadows and highlighted different subjects. Therefore, in this shoot I decided to move on from that and look at the different buildings and manmade objects. I felt that the shoot was quite successful as I took some good photographs that I like and that I feel are helping me explore different topics. The following image was one of my favourites from the shoot as it showed the different architecture and different buildings. I like how the green from the stripes stands out from the windows which show that the object actually exists. I feel like looking at this image and the way I edited it, to gain perspective and to align the stripes made the reflection clearer and more focused then previously where the building was the focus of the image.

The image below did not work very well as the idea was to contrast the natural trees with the manmade building in order to show human presence. This did not work for a number of reasons. It is not clear from the image of what I am trying to portray, the flash went off when I was taking the picture and therefore it does not look natural. It is also not composed very well, with the composition of the image not good and the wasted space also taking up a lot of the image.

Progression
In the following shoot, I will look at reflections that are already in place. For example, I will capture the different images in the shot with the reflection either from panes of glass or puddles on the floor. I feel like I am progressing will and that looking at the range of different reflections can enable me to capture images like the one above.
